In Idaho, Democrats unite as GOP squabbles
On the national level, Republicans may have settled on a presidential candidate while Democrats are involved in a protracted struggle, but in Idaho, it is the Democrats who are coming together and the Republicans who are split asunder by a factional divide.
The Democratic unanimity among superdelegates mirrors the wishes of Democratic caucus-goers earlier in the season, who enthusiastically favored Obama over New York Sen. Hillary Clinton. It also displays recognition by Roark and others that a national ticket led by Obama will pose less threat to state and local Democratic candidates than would one Clinton headed.
