By now you’ve probably heard the hoopla about the Newsweek cover featuring Sarah Palin in her running gear. She says it’s sexist, Runner’s World officials say they didn’t know Newsweek was going to use the photo, bloggers across the nation are eating it up.
What caught my eye was the original article about the former Alaska governor’s running routine. You can read it here. I’ve dabbled in running myself, so I read the whole thing and it’s long. I didn’t realize Palin once ran a sub-four hour marathon. That’s a respectable time and something I’ve yet to achieve. (Saying you ran a sub-five hour marathon just doesn’t sound as cool. Maybe that’s why Runner’s World isn’t calling.)
In case you missed the controversial cover, here it is. By the way, Palin will be in the area on Dec. 10. She’s signing copies of her new book from noon to 3 p.m. at the Coeur d’Alene Fred Meyer store. The time was confirmed this week.
