WAC Predictions Week 13

Posted on 26 November 2009 by Jesse Baumgartner

There’s only one non-Idaho game that really matters this week, and it’s taking place at 7 p.m. in Boise on Friday.

Nevada (8-3) at Boise State (11-0), 7 p.m. on Friday, ESPN2: Doesn’t get any better than this. The WAC ends up getting what is basically a conference championship, and it’s on national TV on a Friday when there isn’t much else to distract potential viewers. The Wolf Pack has been unbelievable with this Pistol offense, but they’re going up against the No. 15 defense in the country. And a bigger question, can the Nevada secondary slow down Kellen Moore? Guess: Boise State 45, Nevada 31

New Mexico State (3-8) at San Jose State 1-9), 5 p.m.: Will the football gods grant Dick Tomey a little reprieve? Let him win just a game or two before departing from the Spartans program? This is the game to get it done, because scoring more than 14 points basically guarantees a win against DeWayne Walker’s crew. Guess: SJSU 24, NMSU 14

Navy (8-3) at Hawaii (5-6), 7:30  p.m.: The only reason Hawaii has a chance in this one is because it’s in Honolulu. Navy has put together a fine season, and its running game should eat up the Hawaii defense. Remember, though, the Warriors are fighting for their postseason lives and must win this game to have a chance at being eligible for a bowl (aka the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl). Guess: Navy 34, Hawaii 24
Record so far this season on predictions: 58-8
