Idaho/Utah State prediction

This is a tough one to pick, and Vegas agrees since the line is Idaho by only three despite the disparity in records (7-4 to 3-8). Anyway, here we go.

When Idaho has the ball: The big question mark is whether a healthy/effective Nate Enderle will be taking the field. If he’s all set, Idaho shouldn’t make much trouble putting up points on a defense that is giving up nearly 450 yards a game. If he’s not, that will put the focus on the Idaho defense — not a safe bet. Regardless, Idaho should have some success running the ball with its three-man attack.

When Idaho is on defense: Diondre Borel gives everyone problems, and the Vandals will be no exception. They barely touched Colin Kaepernick and struggled with Jake Locker — not a good trend heading into this game. Plus the Aggies have a legit runner in sophomore Robert Turbin. The Idaho D has had two weeks to rest up, and they’ll need to start fast.

Intangibles: How Idaho comes out of the gate. It’s senior day and a chance to finish at 8-4, so emotions should be high. But the start of the game has been a big problem lately for the Vandals.

Prediction: This is so tough to call because of Enderle. If he’s 100 percent healthy, Idaho probably wins a shootout somewhat comfortably. But with Idaho stumbling into this game having lost three of its last four and Enderle hoping to be at 95 percent by gametime, it’s a toss-up. Guess: Idaho 31, Utah State 28

Record picking Idaho games: 10-1
