Two hours. Three adults. Eight eight-and nine-year old girls. A drama-free birthday party.
If you’re a parent, you know that’s a little piece of priceless heaven.
I however paid $19.50 a child for this at Simple Reflections, a jewelry supply store in downtown Lewiston. The store charged $15. The extra $4.50 was for a cake and goodie bags. I could have gotten by without the cake because the store would have provided cupcakes. But I splurged and got my daughter a grocery store cake with the basketball logo she wanted.
Expensive as this sounds, I got a lot for my dollars. I’ve previously tried to do home parties on a shoe string only to have discovered how quickly everything adds up to a lot more.
The price included the supplies for a bracelet, and probably more valuable, instruction on how to make it. The proprietor chose a project all the girls were able to complete with little trouble in the time allotted. Their versions were every bit as beautiful as ones for sale in the store for $15 made by more experienced hands.
My stress level was significantly less than had the party been at home because I didn’t have a mess to pick up after the company left.

Your children can get manicures or pedicures at Headmasters in downtown Lewiston. Since it’s a beauty school, the prices are typically more affordable than salons.
And of course don’t forget the obvious ones including the The Rollaway in downtown Lewiston, McDonald’s, the Asotin County Aquatics Center in Clarkston and Village Centre Cinemas.
If there are any good options I missed, please add them in comments.
