- Cowboys are prepping for the final performance of the 75th annual Lewiston Roundup, set to begin at 1:29 p.m. Check back for rodeo updates, and tid bits from the grandstands here at the rodeo grounds.

- Local bareback rider Dustin Mulrony of Pomeroy will be among the first out of the chute when the Roundup begins today. Two other local cowboys, Mike Fuller of Clarkston and Todd Cleveland of Lewiston, are also showing off their skills on separate teams in roping events later today.

- It’s 1:29 p.m. at the final performance of the 75th annual Lewiston Roundup. She’s Wild.

- A trio of 77-point rides topped today’s bareback. Dustin Mulrony of Pomeroy, Brandon Martin of Pendleton, Ore., and James Sursa of Bluebell, Utah, all earned the day’s top score.

- Ropers also had a tie in today’s  tie down roping event. Brad Goodrich of Hermiston, Ore., and Jake Pratt of Ellensburg, Wash., each lassoed their animals in times of 9.4 seconds. Pratt’s run put him in fifth place overall after a 9.9-second run earlier in the week.

- Steer wrestler Beau Franzen had the quickest run of the day, as the Sidney, Mont., cowboy wrangled his steer to the ground in 3.5 seconds.

- South Dakota cowboy Bryce Miller held on long enough for an 84-point score, the top in Sunday’s saddle bronc event. The Buffalo, S.D., cowboy had the score atop Shining Mountain.

-  Team ropers Jason Minor of Ellensburg, Wash., and Taylor White of Prosser, Wash., had the quickest time on team roping today, working their ropes in 6.4 seconds on the run.

- Next year’s Lewiston Roundup princesses will be Candyce Forsman and Kristin Parvin. The 76th annual Lewiston Roundup queen will be Christi Thompson. This is the first year the Roundup royalty was announced from the rodeo itself.

- Macy Fuller of Clarkston netted a silver belt buckle after winning the weekend’s amateur barrel racing.

-  Bull rider Brandon Reynolds held on to Gin and Juice and an 84-point ride for the Pike Road, Ala., cowboy this afternoon, the top bull riding score of the day.

- That wraps it up for the 75th annual Lewiston Roundup. She’s gonna be wild again at the 76th annual rodeo, set for the weekend after Labor Day in 2010.

- She’s gonna be getting wild in about 90 minutes here at the Lewiston Roundup grounds. Saturday’s performance has traditionally played to a packed arena, and this year looks to be no exception. We’ll try to post info between events again tonight, along with any other interesting tidbits from the 75th annual rodeo.

- Most rodeo cowboys at the Roundup this weekend have hailed from the West and South of the United States, but there have been a few exceptions. Among competitors tonight is Queensland, Australia, bareback rider Dave Worsfold. International compeitors can also be found in tonight’s saddle bronc, where Alberta, Canada, cowboys Jim Berry and Todd Herzog have signed up for competition.

- It’s 6:59 p.m., time for what announcer Will Rassmussen calls “Saturday Night Live in Lewiston, Idaho.” The traditional grand entry should begin shortly, followed by bareback riding in the Lewiston Roundup arena.

- Nebraska cowboy Steven Dent topped the night’s bareback riders with an 86-point score. The Mullen, Neb., man was two points shy of the overall bareback score of Friday night’s Clint Cannon.

-  Colbert, Wash., cowboy Tyson Durfey had the quickest tie down roping time of 9.3 seconds.

- Sturgis, S.D., cowboy Tyler Haugen moved quicker than a Harley to wrestle his animal to the ground in 4 seconds flat. It was the fastest steer wrestling time of the night.

- Utah’s Rusty Allen topped the night’s Saddle Bronc, as the Eagle Mountain, Utah, rider held on to an 82-point ride on Broadmore.

- Bull rider Clayton Savage of Casper, Wyo., was the lone cowboy to net an 8-second ride tonight, holding onto Sky High for a crowd-pleasing 84 points. One of the night’s rough-stock bulls took out a gate on the arena fence, prompting a referee to jump high atop the chain-link barrier.

- That about does it from the Roundup tonight. The rodeo concludes Sunday with a 1:29 p.m. start time.

- The crowds are starting to file in with about 35 minutes until tonight’s 6:59 p.m. start.  We’ll try to post top scores between rounds, as well as other action from the 75th annual Lewiston Roundup.  She’s Wild.

- Be on the lookout for scores/times  from three local cowboys on the schedule tonight: Bareback rider Eric Mader of Keuterville, tie down roper Brian Hill of Lewiston and team roper John Hagler of Lewiston.

- It’s 6:59 p.m., she’s wild!

- Among rodeo fans tonight are six wheat buyers from the Philipines, who are in the area on a trade delegation. Roundup Director Bill Flory said the group spent Friday on hillside combines before getting VIP passes to the Roundup.

- Bareback rider Clint Cannon of Waller Texas came up on top in the first run of 8-second rides with an 87 score.

- After Friday’s runs, Seymour, Texas, cowboy is in the top standings in tie down roping. He roped a calf in 7.8 seconds tonight, holding the quickest hands of the night. A 9.7 second first go earlier in the week puts him in first place with a 17.5-second aggregate.

- Shaun Stroh of Dickinson, N. D., gave the crowd a pleasing ride atop Surprise Party in the Saddle Bronc with a score of 87.

- Tate Stratton of Stanley N.M. and Austin Ambrose of Fletcher, Okla., were co-champions of the bull riding after each scored an 84 Friday night.

- The Roundup wil again keep cowboys bucking’ and bustin’ starting at 6:59 p.m. Saturday.

Extreme Bulls

Video of the 75th annual Lewiston Roundup will be back following Saturday’s performance. But check the From the Newsroom blog later tonight as reporter Brandon Macz and myself post updates from the Roundup grounds.

T-minus 60 minutes until the first bulls burst out the gate at the 75th annual Lewiston Roundup. We’ll try to post updates and tidbits between rounds of tonight’s Extreme Bulls.

- It costs each cowboy $185 to enter tonight’s Extreme Bulls. That’s the entry fee to ride the bulls.

- It’s 6:29 p.m. at the 75th annual Lewiston Roundup. She’s wild.

- Five cowboys withstood the buckin’ bulls in the first round. The night’s top cowboy so far is Utah native Wesley Silcox, who withstood the ornery Grass Dancer for a score of 86.

- Silcox has some stiff competition in Colin McTaggert of Las Vegas, who held on tight in the second run of bulls atop a black and white bull called Hearts on Fire for a score of 86.

- In the last ride of the third run of bulls, Chad Denton has emerged with a new high score of 88. The finals are up next, with the Berry Creek, Calif., cowboy holding the top Extreme Bulls score.

- Wesley Silcox withstood another tough beating atop a bull named Calico Cat for a score of 86 in the finals. Two 86 bull rides have given the Utah cowboy the victory at tonight’s Extreme Bulls. Silcox tops the final  leader board with a score of 172 on two.
