Bennett Forest Industries, Riley Creek Lumber announce merger

Bennett Forest Industries and Riley Creek Lumber announced today that the two companies will merge.
Once the merger is complete on Aug. 1, the two companies will operate four lumber mills in Grangeville, Chilco, Laclede and Moyie Springs.
Both companies are family owned and, according to a press release, they have worked together for decades.
�The common core values and mission that both companies share make this merger a unique opportunity for building a strong lumber franchise, which is better positioned for providing a higher level of service to our customers and employees,� said Scott Atkinson of Bennett Lumber, who will be named the president of the new company.
Marc Brinkmeyer, owner of Riley Creek, will be the chairman of the board of the new company. Dick Bennett, owner of Bennett Forest Industries, will serve on the board of directors.
