ATK announces permanent layoffs

Between 70 and 80 hourly and salaried employees at ATK’s Lewiston site are losing their jobs at the ammunition maker permanently.

The reduction will leave ATK, the region’s third largest manufacturer, with about 850 employees, said Amanda Covington, spokeswoman for ATK in Salt Lake City.

The company began telling employees today and expected to be finished with the notifications by Monday.
