Josephine (Jo) Coffey died Sunday, March 30, 2008, in Mountain View, Calif.
Jo was born in Lewiston Sept. 16, 1920, one of three children of Joseph and Helen Geiseker Coffey. Jo lived at the family home at 1215 Eighth St. in Lewiston (known for many years as Coffeys Grocery).
She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1938, and for several years she worked for the Empire Coca Cola Co. in Lewiston. Jo visited her aunt and uncle in Hawaii in the mid 1950s, moving to Hawaii in 1956. In 1962 she returned to the mainland, living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area. Jo worked for the Stanford Research Institute from 1962 until she retired in 1985. Jo loved people and sports and she had a great sense of humor. Jo was a member of the Catholic Church.
Her parents, Joseph and Helen, preceded her in death, as did her brother Louis and older sister Pat Clumpner. She is survived by a cousin in Lewiston, Mike Mitchell; three other cousins and several nieces and nephews.
Jo's ashes will be interred at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, in the family plot at the Normal Hill Cemetery in Lewiston.
