John and Sally Desimone

The Clarkston couple will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a family gathering.

John Desimone and Sally Kidwell were married Aug. 5, 1966, in Moscow.

John taught and coached football at Moscow High School until 1972 when he joined the family-owned business, Lee Morris Co. in Clarkston. Sally also worked for her family's business until, upon his retirement, he closed the store a few years ago.

Both now work part-time at Patt's Garden Center in Clarkston. He also helps run the Clarkston Farmer's Market.

They have two daughters, Lisa and Teri; three sons, John, Michael and Bryan; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Their children will be hosts for their family celebration.
