PULLMAN - The 26th annual Washington State University Press Holiday Book Fair is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today in the Terrell Library Atrium on the WSU campus here.

The fair's aim is to highlight books published by the press throughout the year, and includes discount prices, drawings for free books and refreshments.

University of Idaho professor Rodney Frey, author of "Carry Forth the Stories," will sign copies of his book during the fair. His book features "his own as well as stories from interviews, oral histories and elders," according to a news release.

Today and Saturday

CLARKSTON - The Clarkston and Lewiston high school drama clubs will stage "James and the Giant Peach: the Musical" tonight and Saturday in the CHS auditorium.

Curtain times are 7 tonight and Saturday with an additional matinee at 2 p.m. Saturday. The musical also will be staged at 7 p.m. next Thursday, Dec. 15 and 16, and at 2 p.m. Dec. 16 at CHS.

Based on the Roald Dahl's children's book, it follows the adventures of James, a young boy who discovers an enormous enchanted peach.

Cost is $12 regular price, and $10 for students and seniors.

LEWISTON - The monthly Coffee and Books discussion will be about "Today Will Be Different" by Maria Semple beginning at 10 a.m. Friday at the Lewiston City Library.

The library is at 411 D St.

The Jim Basnight Band, a longtime Northwest touring band, will play two venues in the region Friday in Moscow and Saturday in Orofino.

Basnight's music spans a variety of genres, including "blues, country, soul, punk, pop, folk and all styles of rock and roll," according to the band's social media.

The four-piece band plays at 9:30 p.m. Friday at John's Alley in Moscow, 114 E. Sixth St. Cost is $8.

Saturday, the band plays at 9 p.m. at the Shotglass in Orofino, 101 College Ave.

PULLMAN - The Graham Ballet annual Winter Concert and Auction begins at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Gladish Community and Cultural Center's Domey auditorium here.

The event kicks off with a dance performance followed by hors d'oeuvres, and live and silent auctions. Tickets are $19.

Advance tickets can be purchased at the studio in Suite 204 at Gladish. Group tickets of 10 or more are available for $11 when purchased in advance.

Saturday

MOSCOW - The next installment of the Winter Market will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the 1912 Center here.

The market features more than 30 vendors, both indoors and outside on Pall Plaza, and Humble Burger will be on site selling lunch. Other vendors will be serving perishables while artisans will be selling a variety of goods.

Free tours of the upper floors of the 1912 Center will be given at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. to show attendees what planned renovations are in store.

Two more markets are planned in this 14th season on Feb. 3 and March 3.

The center is at 412 E. Third St.

LEWISTON - Hell's Belles, an all-woman AC/DC tribute band, will bring the music of the famed rock band to the Clearwater River Casino event center east of here beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Hell's Belles formed in 2000. The current lineup includes Mandy Reed (as Cliff Williams on bass guitar), Lisa Brisbois (part-time Malcolm Young on rhythm guitar), Sharon Needles (part-time Malcolm Young on rhythm guitar), Judy Cocuzza (as Phil Rudd on drums), Amber Saxon (as Bon Scott and Brian Johnson on lead vocals) and Adrian Conner (as Angus Young on lead guitar).

Tickets cost $15 to $25 and are available at the casino box office or online at ticketswest.com.

The casino is at 17500 Nez Perce Road.

Wednesday

MOSCOW - John Rusche of Lewiston, a retired physician and former Idaho legislator, will talk about health care in America during a League of Women Voters of Moscow forum from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the 1912 Center.

"Single Payer Systems and American Health Care" is the topic of John Rusche's presentation. His talk will review some of the models of health care and health care financing among industrialized nations, and point to some common values that might lead to a better, more stable U.S. system, according to a news release.

Rusche served six terms in the Idaho House of Representatives, beginning in 2004.
