Community band gives free concert Sunday
"Fiddler on the Roof" and "March of the Toys" are a couple highlights of a free concert Sunday by the Lewiston-Clarkston Community Band.
Music starts at 3 p.m. at Lewiston High School auditorium.
Brothers to play at Dahmen Barn Saturday
UNIONTOWN - Thorn Creek Express will play at the Dahmen Barn at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Thorn Creek Express is made up of four brothers from Genesee ranging in age from 13 to 17. They play western, country, old time, bluegrass and gospel.
Admission is $7 at the door.
Hell's Belles returns
for show at casino
Hell's Belles returns to the Clearwater River Casino Saturday night.
The all female AC/DC tribute band performs at 8 p.m. Doors open at 6. The Lewiston-Clarkston Valley band Homewrecker opens the show at 6:30.
The casino is four miles east of Lewiston along U.S. Highway 95/12.

Palouse Trio to play concert at WSU Friday
PULLMAN - The faculty artist series presents the Palouse Trio at 8 p.m. Friday in the Bryan Hall Theatre on the Washington State University campus.
Tickets will be available in the lobby one hour before the concert starts and prices are $10 for general admission, $5 for seniors and non-WSU students and free for WSU students.

WSU Opera Workshop to stage two scenes
PULLMAN - The Washington State University Opera Workshop will present scenes from two 19th century operas at 8 tonight in Bryan Hall Theatre.
The cast will perform pieces from "La Cenerentola," based on the story of Cinderella and "Falstaff." The group is directed by Julie Anne Wieck, associate professor of music. The event is free.
Community actors to stage play in Potlatch
POTLATCH - The family production "A Little Princess" will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday at the Log Inn here.
The play, adapted from Frances Hodgson Burnett's book, will be performed by actors from Moscow, Potlatch, Viola, Princeton, Harvard, Tensed and Sanders.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for seniors and children. Advance tickets will be available at Junction Lumber, Harebrained and Happy, and Northwest Pharmacy, or at the door.
UI comedy troupe to bring improv Saturday
MOSCOW - White Tie Improv, a University of Idaho comedy troupe, will perform short- and long-form improv skits based on audience suggestions at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Kiva Theater on campus.
Admission is $2.
Open mic Monday to benefit Lewiston YCA
Singers, poets, stand-up comedians and others are invited to perform at an all-ages open mic Monday at La Boheme in Lewiston.
The 5 to 9 p.m. event is a benefit for the Lewiston YWCA. Cash donations will be accepted along with non-perishable donations. The restaurant is at a new location, 326 Main St.
Moscow acting troupe returns to the silo
MOSCOW - Moscow Art Theatre (Too) returns with its second production, "Brilliant Traces," staged in a converted downtown grain silo.
The silo's acoustics have been improved since the theater's first performance. Heaters have also been added.
"Brilliant Traces," by Cindy Lou Johnson, is about two lonely, damaged people in need of salvation thrown together in a remote cabin in Alaska during a blizzard.
Show times are 7:30 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 23, 25-26 and at 2 p.m. Sunday and Nov. 27. The silo, known as Tank 41, is near the corner of Sixth and Jackson streets downtown.

St. Gertrude museum to mark its 80th year
COTTONWOOD - The Historical Museum at St. Gertrude will commemorate the 80th year of its founding with a reception from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday.
On Nov. 18, 1931, Sister M. Alfreda Elsensohn announced the creation of a museum in the attic of St. Gertrude's Academy.
Former employees of the museum will share memories in the Johanna Room of the Spirit Center on the monastery campus. Refreshments will be served at the celebration.

Author to sign his book at WSU Bookie Saturday
PULLMAN - Kevin Carson will be signing copies of his book, "Long Journey of the Nez Perce: A Battle History from Cottonwood to Bear Paw," Saturday at the Bookie on the Washington State University campus.
The signing is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Carson is a descendant of an Army officer who fought at the Battle of Clearwater. He graduated from WSU, the U.S. Army Engineer School at Fort Leonard Wood, and the University of Idaho.

'Diary of Anne Frank' auditions are planned
Auditions for the Lewiston Civic Theatre's production of "The Diary of Anne Frank" will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 4-5 in the theater's lower lobby.
The production will be directed by Shirlee Hennigan of Lewiston. There are acting opportunities for a cast of five women ages 13 to 50, and eight men ages 15 to 50. The show runs Jan. 26-Feb. 12.
Auditions will be cold readings from the script. Copies of the script are available at the theater's box office from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

Lewiston theater seeks decoration donations
The Lewiston Civic Theatre is seeking Christmas decorations, especially candy-themed decorations.
Donations will be accepted from 3-6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday with the exception of Thanksgiving week when offices will be closed Wednesday through Friday. The theater is at 805 Sixth Ave.
Dogwood organizers accepting entries, apps
Preparations are under way for the 2012 Dogwood Festival in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley. Organizers are seeking a design concept for this year's event and artist applications are being collected for Art Under the Elms.
