Paul Revere's Raiders with Mitch Ryder

The 1960s American rock band - whose members have roots in Boise - will perform with the Detroit rocker and his band on Aug. 27 at the Clearwater River Casino at 17500 Nez Perce Road, just east of Lewiston. The Raiders were at 1960s pop chart staple, scoring hits such as "Indian Reservation," "Kicks," "Good Thing" and "Just Like Me." Ryder broke through in the mid-'60s with his band, the Detroit Wheels, and is most well-known for the seminal rockers "Devil with the Blue Dress On," "Jenny Take a Ride" and "Sock It to Me Baby." Pulitzer Prize-winning presidential historian John Meacham will deliver the Idaho Humanities Council's 20th Annual Distinguished Humanities Lecture at 7 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Boise Center. Tickets for Meacham's lecture, "America Then and Now: What History Tells Us about the Future," are $60 for general admission and $125 for benefactor level.
