Hot August Nights

Lewiston's Hot August Nights concerts will feature the Led Zeppelin Experience Featuring No Quarter on Aug. 23 and the Georgia Satellites and Foghat on Aug. 24 in Pioneer Park.

Tickets are $19 for Aug. 23 and $35 for Aug. 24 and can be purchased in advance at Rosauers in Lewiston and Moscow, Thain Chevron Dyna Mart, Southway Liberty Dyna Mart, Orchards Pharmacy, Lewis-Clark Credit Union locations, GNC in the Lewiston Center Mall, and Pacific Empire Radio. Discount coupons worth $5 are available at more than 30 area businesses.

The concerts are produced and presented by Pacific Empire Radio and are held annually in conjunction with Lewiston's Hot August Nights Car Cruise and Show and Shine, now in its 27th year.

Quartetto Gelato

Tickets are on sale for Quartetto Gelato, the first concert in the Washington Idaho Symphony's 2013-14 season featuring an ensemble famous for virtuosic showpieces, romantic tenor arias, pyrotechnical solos, blazing gypsy show pieces, and a world accordion champion.

The concert is at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7 at Beasley Coliseum at Washington State University in Pullman. Tickets are $18 to $34 and are available through TicketsWest, (800) 325-SEAT, or online at www.washingtonidahosymphony.org.

Heart By Heart

Tickets are on sale for the band Heart By Heart performing classic Heart hits from the '70s and '80s at 8 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Clearwater River Casino.

The Seattle band consists of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Michael Derosier and Steve Fossen of Heart; guitarist Randy Hansen; Rail's Andy Baldwin; Bob Rivers; Lizzy Daymont; and vocalist Somar Macek.

WSU Performing Arts 2013-14 season

Irish traditional music, swinging holiday jazz, a steampunk-inspired musical and a Shakespeare-inspired comedy are all part of the Washington State University Performing Arts' 2013-14 season.

Tickets are on sale for the season, as are series subscription packages that save 20 percent off regular ticket prices. Discounts are available for seniors 60 and older, students and youth, WSU Alumni Association members and groups of eight or more.

Unless otherwise noted, performances begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Jones Theatre at Daggy Hall.

Oct. 4: Okaidja & Shókoto travel from Africa through the Americas with an energetic mix of traditional and contemporary African and world music. (Admission is free)

Oct. 18: The Martha Redbone Roots Project performs a unique, award-winning blend of Native American elements with soul and funk informed by deep roots in Appalachian folk and Piedmont blues.

Nov. 1: The Improvised Shakespeare Company performs a fully improvised play using the language and themes of the bard.

Nov. 15, 16: Griffin Theatre Company's "Letters Home" brings to life actual letters written by soldiers serving in the Middle East.

Dec. 6: Hot Club of San Francisco fires up the holidays with "Cool Yule," a swinging gypsy wagon trip to the North Pole reminiscent of Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club of France.

Jan. 25: "The Fantasticks" gets a steampunk makeover by the Nebraska Theatre Caravan. There will be an additional matinee performance at 2 p.m.

Feb. 5: The American Place Theatre's Literature to Life stage presentation of "Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl," by Harriet Jacobs, revealing the shocking traumas of slavery, particularly for women and children.

March 12: Caladh Nua captures the essential qualities of traditional Irish music and balances them with an innovative contemporary flair.

March 28: Grammy-nominated Keola Beamer has been called "the quintessential Hawaiian slack-key guitar master" by the New York Times. His wife Moanalani joins him on stage, performing hula as well as chants and playing ancient Hawaiian percussive instruments.

April 4, 5, 11, 12: "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead" is Tom Stoppard's inventive retelling of "Hamlet" from the worm's-eye view of the bewildered Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Additional matinee performances at 2 p.m. on April 5 and 12.
