MOSCOW A Moscow native is coming back via California to take the executive director's job at the Moscow Chamber of Commerce.
Eldonna Shaw currently is president of the Central California Association of Health Underwriters in Madera. She was selected Monday evening by the chamber's board of directors from a field of five finalists.
She will succeed executive director Ray Murphy, who resigned in July to seek other opportunities. Shaw was hired at a salary of $32,000.
Shaw was born in Moscow, grew up near Tensed, Idaho, and graduated in 1975 from the University of Idaho. She has experience in public administration, personnel management and marketing employee benefit programs. She will be in Moscow Sept. 1.
Other finalists were: Ninafaye Aldredge, owner and promotional consultant for Aldridge Marketing and Advertising in Moscow; Heidi S. Smith, sales promotion coordinator and fashion director for The Bon Marche in Spokane; Karen Valinske of Boise; and Alex Schmidt of Hawthorne, Calif., who was executive vice president and general manager of the Hawthorne Chamber of Commerce.
