Area chambers of commerce and travel associations will share in a $4.5 million Idaho Travel Council grant to promote tourism in the state.

The organizations will use the awards to promote cities, towns and regions of the state as tourist destinations, according to the Idaho Commerce Department. This includes print and digital advertising, brochures, attendance at travel shows, public relations, direct mail, industry research and the creation of websites.

Grant recipients in Region 2 include $67,000 to Visit Lewis Clark Valley; $40,962 to Kamiah Chamber of Commerce; $64,000 to Moscow Chamber of Commerce; $20,000 to North Central Idaho Travel Association; $17,500 to Orofino Chamber of Commerce; and $32,000 to Salmon River Chamber of Commerce.
