"Skydiving," a documentary produced by KUID-TV in Moscow, won a first-place award for "small market" programming at the first-ever Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards competition held last week at Scottsdale, Ariz.

The program was produced by KUID's Alan Bell. The Public Broadcast System station operates on the University of Idaho campus.

Other stations claiming awards in the "small market" category were KTVB and KBCI, both of Boise. In all, Phoenix-area stations won 13 of the 24 awards.

CHENEY, Wash. - Clarkston seniors Brian Loomis and Mark Whitinger qualified for the Washington state tennis finals for the second year in a row Friday afternoon

They stopped Robert Selle and Jay Attridge of Deer Park in the boys' doubles finals of Friday's regional qualifying tourney.

As a result, Loomis and Whitinger will compete in the state finals Friday and Saturday at Wenatchee.
