SEATTLE — The post office at Kamiah will be remodeled instead of being moved, postal officials reported Monday after a survey that included a poll of boxholders.
Remodeling and enlarging the facility along Main Steet at Kamiah will begin immediately under a contract with Terry Phillips of Post Falls, who agreed to provide 2,080 square feet of space for $2,000 annual rent.
Under the agreement, Phillips will buy the property from Mr. and Mrs. George W. Mills, who have been getting $1,050 annual rent for 1,063 square feet.

Ten women and two men yesterday began a year’s course at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lewiston which will lead to their becoming licensed practical nurses. The licensing is done by the state at the completion of the course.
Today, a second course in practical nurses training will begin, this time for 15 employes of State Hospital North in Orofino.
Beginning instructions for both courses will include basic concepts of nursing, nursing ethics and nursing history. For the first two weeks, the training is class work for six hours each day.
