MOSCOW — Strips are laid out on the floor of a gym at the Physical Education Building on the University of Idaho’s campus here three days a week for the Fencing Club at the University of Idaho to practice foils.

At each practice, the team’s participants, made up of a mixture of students and community members, clip into scoring wires and pair off to begin matches.

The club also takes part in tournaments, most recently traveling to Spokane and hosting team competitions in Moscow, under the direction of club president and undergraduate student Kyra Young and coach Duncan Palmatier.
