BANGOR, Maine — Hailey Hyer of Pomeroy has been awarded the $1,000 Margaret Louise Burckes Scholarship at Husson University here.

The scholarship is given annually to a student who is committed to occupational therapy as a profession, and Hyer is a fifth-year student pursuing a master’s degree in occupational therapy.
