Pullman city attorney dies while in Canada
PULLMAN -- Pullman City Attorney Tom Kingen died Wednesday morning while on a bicycling trip in Canada, according to a city news release.
Kingen had served in the position since October 1997.
"Tom was a wonderful asset to the city and will be greatly missed,
" said Pullman Mayor Mitch Chandler.
The news release said the mayor and city officials will meet soon to decide about filling the position.
A city official said Kingen was in his mid-50s and had gone on such bike trips before.
There was no word on the cause of death. Kingen is survived by his wife and three children.
