MOSCOW Catherine E. DeVoe, 77, a longtime Moscow resident, died Wednesday at Gritman Medical Center here of an apparent heart attack.

She was born Feb. 21, 1918, in Oregon. She married Alfred DeVoe Sept. 10, 1938, at Camas, Wash. They lived at several towns in Washington before moving in 1950 to Moscow, where she worked as a cook at a local restaurant.

She later worked in the central supply department at Gritman Medical Center for almost 20 years.

After her husband retired in 1972, they moved to Bozeman, Mont., where she worked at various places until a heart attack forced her to quit working. He died in 1982.

She returned to Moscow in 1993 to be closer to members of her family.

She enjoyed doing embroidery, crocheting and working crossword puzzles.

Survivors include two sons, Roy DeVoe of Genesee and Richard DeVoe of Moscow; two daughters, Yvonne Albert of Nampa and Jacquelin Clancey of Tucson, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Short's Funeral Chapel at Moscow with the Rev. John Blom of Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Moscow officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Hills Cemetery at Bozeman.

Memorials may be made to Gritman Medical Center toward the purchase of an air bed.
