ASOTIN — A 20-year-old Clarkston man pleaded not guilty to second-degree rape of a child for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl.
Abraham M. Murillo Jr., who is in the Asotin County Jail on a $25,000 bond, was arraigned Monday in Asotin County Superior Court before Judge Brooke Burns.
Murillo allegedly impregnated an underage girl in December, and she later miscarried, according to court documents.
Class A felonies carry a maximum penalty of life in prison and a $50,000 fine. Deputy Prosecutor Jaime Young is handling the case for the state, and public defender Rick Cuddihy is representing Murillo.
In an unrelated case, Murillo also pleaded not guilty to felony harassment, two counts of fourth-degree assault and minor in possession or consumption of alcohol.
Public defender Bridget Barr is representing him on those charges, and his bond was set at $5,000.
