The Lewiston-Clarkston Union Retiree Club met July 12 at the Labor Temple at Lewiston.

Guest speakers were Tim Cochnauer, a biologist for the Fish and Game Department, and Mike Naccarato with the Central Labor Council.

Cochnouer talked about a raise in fees for seniors, shortfall in projected funding, reintroduction of bear and wolves and restrooms at Manns Lake.

Naccarato explained the reason why a labor picnic won't be held this year. They will concentrate on other activities, such as parade floats for the area fairs.

The August meeting will be held at Beachview Park at Clarkston followed by a picnic. Sandwiches and soft drinks will be furnished and those attending are asked to bring a favorite dish.

Door prize winners were LeRoy Moldenhauer, Tom Osborne, Bill Parks, Virgil Lundgren and Jerry Klemm.

Food items collected were donated to the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen.
