A community meeting on turning Clarkston's old swimming pool into a skateboard park will be at 6 p.m. Monday at the Walla Walla Community College Clarkston Center.
A representative from a Seattle skateboard park company will be in Clarkston Monday to tour the site at 3 p.m., talk to community members and make a presentation to the public at 6 p.m., according to Doug Higgins, Clarkston public works director.
The city is considering converting the pool at Beachview Park into a place for skateboarders, based on suggestions from youth in the community. Clarkston City Council members have said they won't know if it's feasible until they find out what the project would cost.
Last month, officials approved hiring a design consultant to visit Clarkston.
