County executive says he has done no wrong

EVERETT, Wash. - Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon said he is innocent of all criminal accusations.

In an email to The Daily Herald on Thursday, he wrote he is confident he will be fully exonerated, but declined to comment on specifics.

Washington State Patrol detectives are looking at his travel and credit card records, mobile phone and email usage for the past three years.

The patrol launched its investigation Oct. 26 into possible misuse of public funds after a woman who works for the county approached a county councilor with her concerns.

The 40-year-old Reardon won re-election to a third term in this month's election.
