Crews extinguish fire in pasture near Colton

COLTON — Firefighters from at least two rural fire districts and the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office responded to a wildfire in pasture land near Colton Friday night.

A police and fire dispatcher said the report of the half-acre blaze in the 1100 block of Wawawai Road came in shortly after 8 p.m. Firefighters from districts 14 and 12 responded and were on scene for approximately four hours.

No structures were damaged, and no injuries were reported.
