The outpatient diabetes education program at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston will present a program on "Diabetes and the Eye" at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Richard Eggleston, a Clarkston ophthalmologist, will explain the potential effects of diabetes on eyes. He will discuss symptoms, treatment and the patient's role in prevention.

There is no fee for the class and preregistration is not required.

The program will be held in conference Room D on the second floor of the hospital.
