Dora Thompson passed away Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at the Life Care Center of Lewiston. She was 93.

Dora was born March 13, 1910, in Ninga, Manatoba, Canada, to Arthur Widdon, heir to the Earl of Stairs, and Ethel Jane Lowe Widdon.

She attended the University of Toronto Nursing School after high school.

Dora married Clarence Eugene Cooke in International Falls, Minn., Aug. 24, 1930. She became a U.S. citizen in 1937.

Dora and Clarence moved to Lewiston in August 1943 after he retired from the Fish and Game service. They moved in the spring of 1950 to Winchester, where he died in 1962. She returned to Lewiston after his death.

She later married Harvey Thompson, and they moved to Syringa to live for several years before returning to Lewiston. He died after returning.

Dora was a member of the Eastern Star, Eagles and the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed the lodge work very much, and she held several offices in all lodges.

She is survived by two children, John Cooke of Orofino and Jane Skinner of McCall; one sister, Eileen Jackson of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, and two sisters.

Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home of Lewiston is handling the arrangements.
