WAHA — Eagle Creek Road, which descends from Craig Mountain south of Lewiston to the lower Salmon River, is now open for weekend use, the Idaho Department of Fish and Game announced Friday.
An improvement project on the route has been afoot since the spring, and was complicated by a May storm that washed out the road.
But work has progressed enough that the road will be open to travelers starting at 5 p.m. Fridays through 8 a.m. Mondays. For the time being, it will remain closed the rest of the time, according to Fish and Game.
The 15-mile road is jointly managed by the Bureau of Land Management and Fish and Game.
