Various fundraisers are ongoing for the people impacted by the Cardiff fire as the two injured continue to recover.
The fire and explosion took place at the Atkinson Distributing station in Cardiff on Sept. 11. Two people were killed, Wesley J. Lineberry, 62, of Pierce, and Brandon L. Cook, 53, of Orofino. Two others were injured, Roxann Hubbs and Donny Billeter.
According to UW Medicine at Seattle, both Hubbs and Billeter have been listed in satisfactory condition. Hubbs was a sales clerk for Atkinson Distributing and Billeter was driving a fuel tank and was offloading at the gas station.
The Flame Bar in Pierce is having a fundraiser for those involved in the Cardiff fire starting at 2 p.m. Saturday. The U.S. Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association is donating two buckets; one will be placed at the Flame Bar and the other will be at Idaho Central Credit Union for donations. Chubbies Pizza is donating pizza and there will be a potluck buffet beginning at 4:30 p.m.. The Flame will donate 50% of proceeds for the day.
A memorial account has been set up at Idaho Central Credit Union for Lineberry. Funds will go to his widow to cover funeral and other expenses. Those who want to donate can call or go to any ICCU branch and donate to the account named Memorial for Wes Lineberry (3445).
