A young girl was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a car Friday evening at the intersection of Thain Road and Burrell Avenue in the Lewiston Orchards.
According to Lewiston Police Capt. Roger Lanier, the girl was crossing Burrell Avenue from north to south on the east side of the intersection at around 5:20 p.m. when she was hit by an early 2000s silver Dodge Durango that was turning east onto Burrell Road from Thain Road. Police believe she was inside the crosswalk when she was struck.
The girl, whose name and age has not been released, was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. The name of the driver of the Durango has not been released.
