Lewiston resident Hazel B. Meier will celebrate her 90th birthday Wednesday with members of her family and friends at the Royal Plaza Retirement Center at Lewiston.

She was born Jan. 30, 1906, at Coulee City, Wash., to Willis and Stella Gregg. They moved to Spokane and Orofino before moving to Lewiston in 1915.

She graduated from high school there and attended the Lewiston Normal School (now Lewis-Clark State College). After receiving her teaching certificate, she started teaching in 1926 at the Meier School, four miles east of Melrose, Idaho.

She lived with the Meier family and later married Arthur Meier Dec. 10, 1927, at Grangeville.

He farmed and she was a homemaker at the family farm. He died March 18, 1992.

She enjoys flowers and was a member of the Reubens Garden Club. They were members of the Reubens Grange and Presbyterian Church at Reubens.

She moved to Lewiston in 1992 to live with her daughter and moved into Royal Plaza in 1994.

She has three daughters, 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
