TWIN FALLS Former Lewiston resident Henry A. Engle, 80, died of a stroke Sunday at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center here.
He was born April 28, 1913, in Riverton, Wyo., to Michael J. And Charlotte Welton Engle. He attended schools in Wyoming and worked in the mines and as a rancher in his youth. Later he was employed as a logger in Wyoming, Colorado and Arizona.
Engle married Anna Samora, who died in 1960.
He moved to Idaho in 1942 and operated a saw shop and worked in the logging industry until his retirement from Potlatch Corp. at Lewiston.
He married Elsa Chase in 1964 in Elko, Nev.
Engle was a member of the Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading, the outdoors and his cat.
He is survived by his wife at Rupert; three daughters, Louise Border of Kamiah, Dorothy Elling of Attica, Mich., and Joyce Griner of Pierce; a son, Michael Engle of Pierce; and two sisters, Kay Gwinn and Willa Crandall, both of Casper, Wyo.
A brother, a sister and a grandson died previously.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Normal Hill Cemetery in Lewiston with the Rev. Phillip Bonner officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Hansen Mortuary in Rupert.
