A 45-year-old Lewiston man has been charged with multiple counts regarding alleged incidents of sexual abuse with a child under the age of 16.
Adam L. Miller was charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 16 and one count of sexual battery of a child 16 or 17, both felonies.
One charge alleges an incident between June 1 and June 31, 2021, and the other between Aug. 1 and Aug. 21, 2021. The sexual battery allegedly took place Oct. 15, according to court documents.
The incident was reported to Lewiston police Oct. 23 alleging sexual abuse had been taking place for about 10 years.
The victim spoke with police Nov. 1 about several incidents in which Miller allegedly kissed her and molested her over her clothes.
The victim told police the incidents took place when she was alone with Miller and he had allegedly been drinking, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Police spoke with Miller on Dec. 12 and he denied the allegations and said he never touched her inappropriately, according to the affidavit.
An arrest warrant for Miller was issued May 17 and returned May 26.
The warrant for Miller’s arrest had the bond set at $50,000 in court documents filed May 16. His bond was posted May 28.
He made his initial appearance Tuesday before Magistrate Judge Karin Seubert at the Nez Perce County Courthouse. Seubert also issued a no-contact order.
The maximum penalty for each charge is 25 years in prison as well as a $50,000 fine.
