A Lewiston man who allegedly grabbed a woman's buttock, was struck in the head with a baseball bat and punched a porch causing a baby to fall over was fined for disturbing the peace.

Timothy Wayne Stubblefield, 36, was originally charged with damaging property, injuring a child and battery as a result of a June 28 altercation that started when Stubblefield and another man returned home from fishing.

Stubblefield was sentenced this week in Magistrate Court for disturbing the peace, a misdemeanor, and must pay $252.50 in fines and fees through a deferred payment schedule.

According to court documents, Stubblefield and Greg Anderson had spent the day fishing and when they returned to a residence in the Orchards at approximately 10 p.m., Stubblefield had allegedly inappropriately touched Anderson's girlfriend, setting the melee in motion.

Anderson allegedly swung at Stubblefield with a black baseball bat, according to court records. The glancing blow left an abrasion.

When Lewiston police arrived, Anderson was standing in the street holding a baseball bat, according to a police report.

A witness at the scene reported to police that Stubblefield had punched the porch in anger, striking a board near a baby playing on the porch.

"The baby fell backward, once Stubblefield punched the board," according to court records.

The charges of injury to a child and malicious injury to property were dismissed, and the battery charge was reduced to disturbing the peace, according to court records.
