A joint meeting between the Nez Perce County Commission and Lewiston City Council to discuss solid waste problems will be held at 3:15 Monday afternoon in the Brammer Building, 1225 Idaho St., Lewiston.

One of the items is expected to be illegal dumping in the county by city residents, and ways of cleaning up the problem.

The county commissioners won't have a regular agenda session Monday. They will, however, meet twice Tuesday with county employees on union negotiations. The first meeting will be at 10 a.m. with all eligible employees except those from the sheriff's department employees and the second at 1 p.m. with those from the sheriff's office.

Salary and benefit proposals probably will be presented by the union, based on an earlier agreement that no new requests would be made after the third negotiating session. This will be the third for both groups of employees.

Both sessions are open to the public.

The county commission also will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday night at Peck to talk about solid waste disposal there.
