Lewiston police seek rape suspect

Police are looking for a Lewiston man accused of raping an underage girl last month.

An arrest warrant was issued Monday for 19-year-old Peter H. Bakker, who is alleged to have raped a woman younger than 18 July 30 in Lewiston, said Lewiston Police Cpl. Eric Kjorness. The alleged victim knew Bakker, and he is not considered a danger to the community, Kjorness said.

"We just really want to find him," he said.

The Nez Perce County warrant includes a $25,000 bond and extradition from multiple states. Bakker is thought to be either in Lewiston or western Washington, Kjorness said.

Bakker is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, 190 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
