A Lewiston man was found guilty of obscene live conduct during a recent trial in Nez Perce County Magistrate Court.

Michael E. Caimi, 26, was accused of masturbating in the parking lot of the Lewiston ShopKo store Nov. 30. A witness said she saw him sitting in a car with his pants and underwear down around his ankles.

Judge Gary Elliott, who presided over the bench trial, gave Caimi a withheld judgment and placed him on one year's probation. He also fined him $200 for the misdemeanor.

A withheld judgment means if Caimi successfully completes probation, he can say he has never been convicted of the crime, although it will remain a part of his record.
