MOSCOW Neil H. Adair, 71, a longtime Potlatch, Idaho, resident, died Tuesday of cancer at Latah Health Services here.

He was born Aug. 6, 1924, at Princeton, Idaho, to Edgar and Stella Hawkins Adair. He started school at Onaway, Idaho, and finished at Potlatch.

He joined the U.S. Army and served in the European Theater during World War II. He re-enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base at Spokane.

He married Zelma Seal April 24, 1958, at Moscow and they lived at Potlatch, where he was a truck driver for Keck Logging. He retired in 1989.

Survivors include his wife of Potlatch; five sons, Danny Adair of Moses Lake, Wash., Lanny Adair of Lewiston, Curtis Lee of Bellingham, Randy Lee of Priest River, Idaho, and Stacey Adair of Viola, Idaho; two daughters, Debbie Kerns and Robin Kammeyer, both of Potlatch; one brother, Lisle Adair of Lewiston; one sister, Rita Lang of Clarkston; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Two sisters, Ethel Watson and Mable Merriman, died previously.

No service is planned and cremation will take place. Inurnment at Freeze Cemetery near Potlatch will be held at a later date.

Kramer Funeral Home at Palouse is making arrangements.
