WINCHESTER - A dozen area residents turned out to tour an area they may never get into again.
Twenty acres of meadow and forest about 2 miles south of town are enclosed by a pair of chain link fences, and sometime soon, the enclosure will be turned over to a pack of 11 wolves.

A Yorkie named Penny saved the lives of the Berry family, but neighbors with garden hoses couldn't save the family's home, at 7304 Hatwai Road, from burning to the ground. Helen Berry said she and her husband were awakened at about 3 a.m. by the dog's barking. The smoke alarms did not sound until after the dog started barking and the house was well ablaze, she said.

Dr. William C. Mannschreck, a Lewiston pediatrician for 22 years, has been named Idaho Physician of the Year by the Idaho State Medical Society. Mannschreck, who opened his first practice at Lewiston in 1954, was one of the founders of Opportunity School here, which served as a model for other communities.
