The Clarkston Chamber of Commerce yesterday presented community betterment awards to two Clarkston Sixth Street businesses. One went to Der Litten Haus, a new tavern and restaurant housed in a completely remodeled building which earlier had been a grocery market.

The Clarkston High School team has another chance to get on the winning track in the High School Bowl. The four-student team has been invited to compete in another match. The team will travel to Spokane Nov. 27 to tape the show, which will be broadcast at 6 p.m. Nov. 28 on KHQ Television, Channel 6.

Talk around town is that something is in the works for the Idaho County Nursing Home. A merger, perhaps, with the privately owned Grangeville Care Center, or maybe a takeover by Syringa General Hospital. But reports of the county nursing home's demise, Idaho County commissioners say, are greatly exaggerated.
