Transactions in Garfield County this week include the sale by Richard F. McKeirnan and Patricia L. McKeirnan, to Loren Cedar and Tacoma Bruce and Limb Trust, of 1,200 acres around Pataha Creek near the Forest Service boundary. The real estate contract was for $72,225.

Four Lewiston and Clarkston men have enlisted in the 159th Engineer Detachment of the Idaho Army National Guard, reducing to 58 the number of men needed to bring all units of Headquarters 248th Engineer Battalion up to its full strength of 531 men.

Nez Perce County commissioners agreed Monday to pay $7,500 for a feasibility study for a new golf course. The action was taken during the commissioners' regular meeting Monday in the Brammer Building. The golf course is proposed to be set up along old Lapwai Road, on what was identified as the Schaub ranch. The size of the golf course, if it is set up, will be between 180 and 200 acres.

The University of Idaho today will connect a new $227,200 water main. The new main runs across the north end of campus and ties into the current water system at Line Street.
