OROFINO - A 43-year-old Orofino man has died from injuries sustained in a fuel explosion Sunday.
John Gould died Tuesday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to a news release from the Clearwater County Sheriff's Office.
Gould was injured after he reportedly threw gasoline on a fire and the fuel exploded, the sheriff's office said. The accident happened off of Freeman Creek Road near Orofino.
Gould was flown by Life Flight helicopter from the scene of the accident to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, and from there taken to the Seattle hospital Sunday night.
A spokeswoman at the hospital said family members have been notified.
