Investigators have seized two computers and other evidence from the California home of John Joseph Delling's parents, in hopes of getting additional leads into the case of the accused murderer.

Delling is accused in the death of 21-year-old University of Idaho student David Boss, and is suspected in the death of 25-year-old Boise State University Student Bradley Morse. Police said both men were shot twice in the head with the same .38-caliber gun, according to ballistics tests.

Delling also is suspected of shooting and wounding a man in Arizona last month, police said Friday.

Ada County sheriff's deputies seized the computers and several boxes of evidence from the Antelope, Calif., home of Delling's parents Friday afternoon. But sheriff's office spokesman Lt. Scott Johnson said they don't anticipate going through all the evidence right away.

Johnson said he didn't know what kind of computers were seized, but that Delling did have access to the machines. Investigators will work with the FBI experts to examine the computers, Johnson said.

The California home was Delling's last-known residence, Johnson said.

According to court records, Delling allegedly shot Boss the morning of March 31 in Moscow. Police believe he then traveled to Boise in a rented vehicle, according to court documents, where he is believed to be connected to the death of Morse. Boise investigators believe Morse died late Monday night.

Delling was arrested in Sparks, Nev., Tuesday on a first-degree murder warrant for the shooting death of Boss. Moscow police found Delling made a cell phone call to Boss shortly before the shooting at an off-campus apartment, according to reports, and were able to work with the cell phone company to track Delling's location in Nevada.

He was arrested driving a vehicle owned by Morse, according to reports, but Washoe County, Nev., officials said they have dropped an auto theft charge against Delling to expedite his return to Idaho.

He waived extradition to Idaho during a court hearing Friday, giving Idaho officials 10 days to bring him back for prosecution. Delling will not return to Idaho until at least Monday, Moscow Assistant Police Chief David Duke said Saturday. Officials said Saturday it was not yet known whether Delling would first be transferred to Boise or Moscow. He remains in custody in Washoe County, Nev., police said.

"We'll have to determine the best route to bring him back and the best way," Duke said.

Ada County Sheriff Gary Raney announced Friday that Delling has been linked to a third shooting victim, 23-year-old Jacob J. Thompson. Thompson was shot March 20 in Tuscon, Ariz., according to police. Police said Thompson continues to recover at a rehabilitation center after suffering bullet wounds to the face and chest.

Boss and Thompson both graduated from Timberline High School in Boise, as did Delling, according to reports.

Delling is believed to have traveled 6,500 miles in seven Western states in the month prior to the killings, police said. Authorities in other towns to which Delling traveled have been notified of the situation, but Johnson said Saturday they have not yet turned up any other leads.
