Fire Calls
Lewiston Fire Department and Lewiston police crews responded to a car fire around 2 p.m. Wednesday on 14th Street E and Hemlock Avenue in Lewiston. Residents at a home were reportedly cutting up the vehicle for scrap parts, and it caught fire. The fire was out when police arrived.
Crime Reports
Oxygen tanks and hoses valued at $500 were reported stolen from a shop at a residence on the 3400 block of 16th Street in Lewiston.
A torch welding set valued at $500 was reported stolen from the fine arts building on the Lewis-Clark State College campus in Lewiston.
Two teenage boys were arrested on charges of vandalism and burglary after they allegedly broke into a home on the 700 block of Preston Avenue and stole an iPod and money, broke windows and shot a hole into the wall with a shotgun they found at the residence, according to police. The door to the home was reportedly damaged as well.
