Two suspects wanted in connection with a Nov. 24 shooting in Lapwai will soon be on their way back to the Nez Perce County Jail.

Matthew Arthur, 30, and Heather Ellen Picard, 29, were arrested Monday on the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Reservation in central Oregon.

Nez Perce Tribal Police Chief Dave Rogers said Warm Springs Tribal Police officers tracked the two down at the Indian Head Casino in the city of Warm Springs.

They face charges of aggravated battery and aggravated trespass as alleged accomplices in the shooting at a home in Lapwai, Rogers said. One woman was hospitalized following the incident for treatment of injuries not considered life-

threatening.

Rogers said Tuesday he would not release the name of the woman until the remaining suspects are apprehended because of the potential threat to the victim.

The search for the alleged shooter continues as tribal police work in conjunction with the FBI, who are leading the investigation as it is alleged to have occurred on the Nez Perce Reservation and involved tribal members.

Nez Perce tribal officers are en route to pick up Arthur and Picard and will transport them back to the Nez Perce County Jail within the next several days, Rogers said.

A search is continuing for four additional suspects.

Of the six warrants issued in tribal court last week, Arthur and Picard are the first to be arrested for their roles in the shooting on Fort Lapwai Road.

Both Arthur and Picard are enrolled members of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, Rogers said.
