ASOTIN - The Lewis-Clark Tea Party Patriots "Take Back America Rally" is at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Asotin County Fairgrounds.

The event marks the one-year anniversary of the group. Scheduled speakers are state Rep. Matt Shea, R-Spokane Valley, and Wayne Hoffman, executive director of the Idaho Freedom Foundation.

Shea, serving his first term in the Washington House, is a graduate of the Gonzaga University School of Law and is an attorney in private practice. He earned a commission in the U.S. Army after completing the Gonzaga ROTC program, and served combat tours in Bosnia and Iraq. He is a co-founder of the Washington Family Foundation, which later merged with the Family Policy Institute of Washington.

Hoffman, who worked as a journalist for a number of years, served as communications director for former Congressman Bill Sali, R-Idaho. According to the Idaho Freedom Foundation's Web site, its mission "is to keep Idaho free by generating research and data on key issues, and recommending the findings to opinion leaders, policymakers, media and the citizens of Idaho."
