PULLMAN -- The U.S. House Tuesday approved an agriculture spending bill that includes $4.4 million to design a new research facility at Washington State University.
The new lab will eventually cost $48.5 million to build, according to U.S. Rep George Nethercutt, R-Wash., who helped secure the design money.
Other funding for agriculture research at WSU in the $77 billion farm bill includes $450,000 for wheat quality research and $250,000 for a wind erosion laboratory.
