Charles Edward (Chuck) White Eagle passed away at home Feb. 23, 2010, after a battle with diabetes and heart disease. Chuck was born April 10, 1952, in Seattle, to Theodore and Helen Nora Hayes White Eagle. Chuck's paternal grandparents were Frank and Agnes White Eagle. Maternal grandparents were Edward and Rose McConville Hayes. Chuck was also loved and raised by grandmother Mary Hayes.
Chuck went to school in Seattle and graduated from Evergreen Senior High School in 1970. Following high school he worked at Issaquah Jeep Center as a mechanic and then at Sears as a mechanic. Chuck retired from Philtrona Plastics Inc. in 2007.
Some of Chuck's interests were mechanics and big engines, going to pow wows and other tribal gatherings, Native American arts and history, and collecting coins, guns and Matchbox cars.
In the 1960s, Chuck and his father, mother and brothers were members of the Seattle Belly Panners Jeep Club. He also had special friends that belonged to the Seattle Jeep Club.
Chuck is survived at home by his loved longtime companion, Barbara Lawler, and her son, William Davis. Chuck is also survived by his adopted daughter, Sarah Lawler and his adopted son, John Lawler, all of whom held a special place in his heart. Also surviving are his brothers, Ted and Virginia White Eagle of Kent, Wash., Larry and Pam White Eagle of Orofino; George and Regina White Eagle of Ahsahka, and Robert White Eagle, who resides at the Hayes family home in Kamiah; and many aunts, uncles and cousins cherished him very much.
Chuck was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, and his mother and father.
Upon his request, Chuck was cremated and a memorial service will be conducted at a later date in June.
